Celebration of ITEC Day by Embassy of India, Harare, on 15th January 2014
The Embassy organized a function on 15th January 2014 to celebrate ITEC Day. The function was attended by about 100 persons, which included over 70 ITEC alumni, Heads of diplomatic representations of about 12 countries from Africa & Asia, senior government officials and others. Mr. Patrick Chinamasa, Minister of Finance of the Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe, was the chief guest on this occasion.
2. After the brief introductory remarks by First Secretary(HOC), the gathering was addressed by the Ambassador. In his address, Mr. Chinamasa appreciated India’s help in human resource development and requested for increase in ITEC training slots for the Zimbabwean nationals. A few officials, who had earlier done training in India under the ITEC training programme, also made their remarks on this occasion. They were generally all praise for the Indian authorities which enabled them to undertake training in India. They were also appreciative of the content as well as usefulness of the courses and were impressed with their visit to India in general.
